Emily Tu and Edmond Ng, the award-winning duo behind Tung, will act as design directors for all five Applied Arts issues next year and embark on a reimagining of the magazine’s visual components to carry through 2016. Prior to establishing their studio, Tu and Ng worked in some of Toronto’s top design firms including Underline Studio and Concrete Design, respectively.
“Next year, we are celebrating our past but also looking to the future,” says Rosetta Heckhausen, publisher of Applied Arts. “Emily and Edmond exemplify the kind of fresh, exciting Canadian talent that Applied Arts has covered for three decades and were the perfect choice for us — not only for their design sense but for their position in the market, too. We are excited to see what Tung brings to the table as they start bringing our content to life.”
