Deadline Fast Approaching For The Applied Arts 2016 Design Awards

Applied Arts magazine celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2016 and for nearly a quarter-century has established the industry standard in the photography, illustration, design, advertising and interactive disciplines in Canada via the Applied Arts Awards program.

The Applied Arts 2016 Design Awards are now open and accepting entries until March 11, 2016 for commissioned and personal work created between February 2015 and February 2016. A panel of senior-level creative professionals reviews all the submissions and judges which ones will be published based on creative merit, technical excellence and suitability for end use.

• Annual reports
• Logo applications
• Editorial design
• Calendars
• Menus
• Retail and environment design
• Typography
• Promotional design
• Packaging
• Craft printing
• Digital and web design
• Young Blood (open to those with less than five years' industry experience)
• and many more!

Winners will be published in the July 2016 issue of Applied Arts, which will have a special editorial focus on design. The 2016 awards annuals are all art directed by the award-winning studio Tung (, and together comprise a set of five collector's editions to celebrate the publication's 30th anniversary. Design Awards winners are also published in the online winners' gallery and awards archive, and in the tablet edition of the magazine. Every winner is eligible to win the AACE (Applied Arts Creative Excellence) Award or Young AACE Award, bestowed upon the highest scoring entrant in the Design and Young Blood Design categories.

The Applied Arts Design Awards are an international competition — winners often find new clients in the creative directors, producers and other influential decision-makers that read the magazine.
