Web Typography with Kenneth Ormandy

The GDC Alberta North is proud to present Web Typography with Kenneth Ormandy

The GDC Alberta North is proud to present a Web Typography talk with Kenneth Ormandy.

Kenneth Ormandy is an independent designer and front-end developer specializing in web typography.

He's the organiser behind Vancouver’s typography speaker series Type Brigade, and has spoken at events including TypeCon, Front-Trends Warsaw, and CSS Conf Australia.

Kenneth studied at NAIT, Emily Carr University of Art + Design, and the intensive type design program Type@Paris. He regularly contributes to The Lost Type Co-op, and also helped launch the popular front-end deployment platform Surge.sh. Some of his latest work includes the web specimen for Draplin's DDC Hardware Typeface.

His talk, “Web Type Specimens are Web Type Specimens,” looks at how sometimes web typography is just typography, and how sometimes we can do typographic things that only work on the web as medium. Kenneth will join us for a talk followed by a Q+A session—please come prepared with any curiousities or questions you may have about typography and typography on the web.

The GDC AB North is very excited for this opportunity to host Kenneth.
