The GDC Foundation needs your help building scholarship, grant and benevolent funds to support the design community and profession!

We've reached the $60,500 mark and, with your help, we’re targeting $75,000 in the coming year. Meanwhile, we've awarded $5,000 in supported scholarships since 2012.

There's plenty of karma to go around! While helping designers, you’ll also be entered in the Get Behind Design campaign draw with loads of special prizes. Just DONATE by midnight on Dec. 31 and answer a skill-testing question.)

CBC Graphic Standards Manual

The reissue of the 1974 CBC Graphic Standards Manual was fully funded thanks to 469 backers from around the world! The manual is a ring binder holding more than 200 pages that describes CBC’s “Gem” logo, designed in 1974 by Burton Kramer. It also has many designs of other variations of the logo and typography used in the CBC brand. “The CBC manual epitomizes the concept of integrated design,” said Arlene Gehmacher, curator of the Canadian Art and Graphic Design and the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM). “It set the standard for Canadian corporate identity programmes and has become a part of our national heritage.”

We have 10 of the Fairgoods Ne10 Stencils. Corey Holms created a pack of stencils that bring you variety. The first in the set is one that uses a modified version of Corey’s own Ne10 typeface. He added supports to the D, O, P, and 0, and created the Fairgoods heart icon in the same style. "I think it’s really fun to have a stencil that looks different," he said. "I mean, digital typeface stencils are wildly different, but the actual stencils only come in two or three flavors. I harbor no illusion that this will change anything, but hopefully others will enjoy it as much as I have.”

Donations must be received by midnight December 31, 2016, to be considered for the draw. Winners will receive only one prize. If your name is not chosen for a Grand Prize, you will be entered in the regular draw. Winners will be required to answer a skill-testing question. It will be a really hard question...with math!
