Community By Design Week

Need something to break up your week? Want to connect with other designers but don’t want to commit to a full week of events? Community by Design Week is a lightly scheduled week so you can say, “YAAASSS!”

It's a virtual event bringing together our community fueling design, inspiration and connection.

Beginning on Monday, May 10, 2021, join us for fun sessions twice a day.

Monday, May 10, 2021 - 12:15 to 1 pm PST

Let's Kick-Off!

Description: We are starting this off right by meeting as a community. We’ll spend a bit of time with some information from our hosts about the week ahead. We’ll breakout into our Zoom rooms to get to know each other over lunch.

Measuring Impact

Description: Remember when we used to be out with friends for dinner? (Those were the days eh?)

But do you remember spending more time swiping up and down on your phone then actively engaging with the people at your table? You are not alone. Matt helps us discover that we can turn social media from "distraction" to "positive engagement" by changing a single and simple point of view.

In this session Matt will focus on what we measure. Maybe it’s time to change what we measure as success. What if we spent less time chasing “likes” and focused more on impact?

Name of Presenter: Matt Stewart, Bearded Leader Coaching and Staples STUDIO, Kelowna, BC

How To Talk About and Support Our Mental Health

Description: Our mental health can often feel like a taboo topic. In this session, we'll be sharing an open conversation about the resources and tools we use to support our mental health while creating space for others to share openly about their own journeys. We'll also provide you with one of our take-home resources, complete with various supports and services available to you. We look forward to shedding more light on how to start and keep the conversation going around mental health!
