As 2019 ushers in a new awards season, it is complimented by a number of new features and enhancements to the Applied Art Awards:
-New Interactive Winner’s Gallery – featuring bigger, bolder, more vibrant images showcasing winning creative the way exceptional work should be shown. Winning an Applied Arts Award provides you with bragging rights – share your winning entries directly from our enhanced Winner’s Gallery.
-User-friendly Contest Management System – introducing a simplified entry system that makes entering as easy as 1-2-3! Entrants can now pause and resume entering at any point during the entry process and upload high res. images in addition to multiple file formats, including mp3 and mp4 files. For those of you who work on large teams, credits only need to be entered once – they are now stockpiled for repeated use.
-Save On Entry Fees - enter early and save your money. Early Bird deadlines have been introduced for all 2019 Awards. on or before the Early Bird deadline to save $10 off per entry.
-Redesigned Community Categories - newly incorporated within both Design & Advertising Awards. If you are working in a small community, for a small business or with a shoe-string budget in Canada, you may be eligible to enter the Community categories.
The 2019 Design Awards are open to all forms of commissioned, published, unpublished and personal work from both professionals and enthusiasts, created between March 2018 and March 2019. Categories include: catalogues, annual reports, logo applications, editorial design, interactive design, environmental design, typography, packaging, printing and more.
The Student Awards are open to Canadian and international high school and post-secondary students who are enrolled in creative advertising, graphic design, interactive media, photography or illustration programs. Winning an Applied Arts Student Award is the perfect way for emerging talent to land their dream job!
The 2019 Advertising Awards are open to all forms of commissioned, published, unpublished and personal work by advertising agencies and marketers working on traditional and non-traditional advertising projects created between January 2018 and August 2019. Categories include: traditional advertising (out-of-home, print advertising, copywriting, etc.), digital advertising (online advertising, viral/social, branded or sponsored content), and video and radio work.
REMINDER – Young Blood Categories
Young Blood categories continue to be available to professionals who graduated within the past five years. These categories differ from our regular categories in that level of experience is taken into account in addition to be being judged on creative merit, technical excellence and suitability for end use.
Whether you are an enthusiast, undergraduate or seasoned pro, there is an Applied Arts Award tailored to suit your needs.
All winners receive noteworthy exposure, winning work being:
-Published in print in one of the Applied Arts Awards Annuals, read by more than 46,000 creative professionals
-Showcased in the interactive online Winner’s Gallery, with the ability to share directly with your social media followers
-Displayed at select industry events
