GILES WOODWARD CGD
Creative Director, Kinetic Advertising
A British born graphic designer and educator. Giles holds a BA(Hons) in Media & Production Design from the London College of Printing (now Communications). He ran a successful graphic design consultancy called boing! in partnership with Jeff Leak from 1994 – 1998, based in Kidderminster United Kingdom. Giles moved from the UK to Alberta, Canada in 1998 to assume the position of Senior Design Instructor at Medicine Hat College. From 2001 – 2010 he was a partner in the Calgary design studio Fishten. Then he worked independently as a designer, consultant, design thinker, communication strategist and educator. Giles is now the Creative Director of Kinetic Advertising.
His works have appeared in many journals, including Applied Arts, Coupe, and Creative Review, and in books by publishers such as Rockport, Rotovision, and How. Giles has been recognized for his design accomplishments by Ad Rodeo, AIGA, and GDC Graphex. Giles attained a Master of Design degree from NSCAD University. His ongoing design research includes localized problem solving and vernacular communication. He is also interested in popular culture, fashion, music and collecting unique artifacts.
Giles is a CGD Certified Graphic Designer and Member of the Society of Graphic Designers of Canada.

Provider of advertising creative services since 1986. Saskatchewan roots. Best known for targeted and timely creative solutions. Worked directly on results oriented and successful campaigns for many high profile Saskatchewan accounts; SaskTourism, SaskTel and SaskPower. Most recently as a self-employed service provider for clients such as Tourism Saskatoon, SREDA, and SIGA.
Past and present roles as an owner, partner, strategist, creative director, designer and photographer produced a working compliment of form and function. From over-arching positions that have involved high-level strategic and creative thinking to loads of the making it happen variety.
Creative Director, The Marketing Den
Garnet McElree has just moved back to Saskatoon to take on the role of Creative Director for The Marketing Den. He is an internationally award-winning Creative Director, entrepreneur and strategic Marketing Consultant. Working on some of North America’s largest and most diverse brands, Garnet’s experience spans traditional advertising and branding to online and direct marketing. He has worked for agencies including Ogilvy & Mather, Cossette, DDB and BBDO. He is a guest lecturer for the Emily Carr University of Art and Design and speaks regularly on the evolution of branding and trends which impact consumer behaviour.
