The CDTW event is coming to Winnipeg
Over the course of two full days, world-renowned typographers and designers Rod McDonald and Patrick Griffin will provide a brief history of type and then provide hands-on guidance in developing a unique project of your choice.
Further information on this event is available at www.joingdcmb.ca/cdtw
Together, Rod McDonald, CGD, FGDC, RGD, and Patrick Griffin will help you develop the typographic skills that are required to produce professional graphic productions. The emphasis will be on learning the fundamentals of correct typesetting with a focus on editorial design and on creating a deeper understanding of how proper typesetting produces better design that communicates to the reader.
These are two full-day working sessions intended to develop practical skills. Applicants are expected to have taken at least one course in basic typography. All applicants must bring their own laptop and have a licensed copy of Adobe InDesign and fonts to be used. Required reading will be announced prior to the workshop.
Coffee, lunch, and snacks will be provided for both Saturday and Sunday. Workshop will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with an hour for lunch.
In order to ensure that all participants can benefit from the workshop, space is very limited. There are only 25 spots available. All particpants must be able to attend on both Saturday and Sunday.
CDTW is proudly sponsored by the GDC Manitoba chapter. Our partners are Applied Arts Magazine, Canada Type, Monotype, Hambly and Wooley, and Red River College.
