Join us for an eventful night of type, social good and community design awards.

Alongside a series of inspirational talks, we will be celebrating the winners of the Jim Rimmer Community Scholarship for Design Award — awarded annually to students whose project supports a community program, social cause, non-profit, or an environmental cause.

John Hudson (co-founder of Tiro Typeworks, a digital foundry specializing in custom font solutions for multilingual applications) will share a personal reflection on typographer Jim Rimmer, on his way of working, and the place in which he worked. We all use tools to create things, but what is the relationship of tools and creativity, and how should we shape the environment we make for ourselves and our tools?

Angela Bains (Co-Founder and Strategic director of TransformExp) will be sharing how graphic design can have huge political, social and human rights impact. She urges the future generation of designers to think about their role in society today.
