Virtual Drink & Draw - December 2, 2020 – GDC Okanagan

Join GDC Okanagan as we host our December Drink & Draw virtually on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

To celebrate the holidays ahead of us, we are going to change things up. Put your festive sweaters, hats and lights on and how us your holiday spirit.

We are interviewing Mark Rutledge, CGD™ who is President of GDC National.

Mark Rutledge, CGD™ is one of Canada’s design leaders with deep roots and experience designing for Canada’s Indigenous communities and organizations. He is currently the Lead Designer at Animikii,Inc., working with many Indigenous and non-Indigenous organizations helping First Nations, Métis and Inuit communities. He has helped design websites for The Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund, New Journeys and Indian Horse, the movie. He has also created branding and visual identities for Primary Colours, Turtle Island Institute, EntrepreNorth and many others.

Mark is the first Indigenous National President of the Society of Graphic Designers of Canada (GDC) and the first to lead from the Arctic. He is a proud Ojibwa from the Little Grand Rapids First Nation who lives and works in Whitehorse, Yukon on the traditional territories of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation and the Ta'an Kwäch'än Council.

You can join us in three easy steps:

1. Register on Eventbrite. We’ll send you the links that you need to join us on December 2.

2. Make sure you have a device with internet access, paper, drawing utensils, a mouse (clickable), trackpad or stylus, and a bevvie of your choice.

3. We are using Zoom so we can see each other and Miro so we can share our drawings, comment and even try to use their drawing tools.

This event is open to all designers. Must be legal drinking age.

Tickets for this RSVP event are required to get an accurate number of attendees and to be granted access to the virtual whiteboard.

We would like to encourage you to support your local breweries for your beverage choice for the "Drink" portion of the evening.

GDC Okanagan is a small committee that is a part of the Graphic Designers of Canada GDC BC Chapter
