Our Regina-based Brand & Visual Communications team is looking for a Digital Media Designer to work in the production of digital media materials required for corporate and external platforms. You will work primarily in a Mac-based environment using applications such as Premiere Pro, After Effects, Lightroom, Photoshop, Audition and Autodesk Maya. You’ll work with image capture tools such as cameras, gimbals, audio recorders and drone technologies. You will use digital imaging, animation, video editing and motion graphic tools to create dynamic and strategic digital media – from initial concept development through production and post-production evaluation.

Travel is occasionally required.

Typical Duties & Responsibilities:

Analyzes the corporation’s and customer’s digital media needs to create compelling digital media content.
Ensures all digital media adheres to corporate brand standards.
Identifies, interprets and evaluates requirements and specific restraints.
Identifies available media.
Designs visual layouts used for video on various mediums.
Manages media projects with customers, team members and external agencies by using and advising on digital standards across a variety of digital media.
Creates concepts, storyboards, simulations or virtual environments with various multimedia technologies and software applications.
Creates, integrates or edits photo, video, animation and motion graphic content.
Produces graphics, animation, audio, tactile and video contents.
Illustrates and composites visuals as needed.
Interacts with user departments as required to provide technical advice and guidance, and to ensure projects are executed as per specifications.
Manages, maintains and upgrades all lighting, audio and camera/video equipment.
Obtains and manages footage and audio licences and model/property releases.
Transports and sets up all video and photography equipment, including audio and lighting gear, in a variety of internal and external locations.
Organizes and archives all photo and video assets.
Procures stock digital media elements such as videos, music and 3D models.

Knowledge & Skills:
Knowledge of the relationship between graphic design, online video and web production.
Knowledge of professional applications for digital imaging, animation, digital video editing and motion graphic tools.
Knowledge of design principles.
Knowledge of photography principles.
Knowledge of accessibility standards, constraints, and best web practices.
Knowledge of professional lighting, soundtrack and audio recording principles.
Skill to plan, review and follow-up of activities, operations or projects. Periodic review and/or coordination with other departments and/or external agencies is required to ensure appropriate sequence is being followed.
Skill to interpret and communicate information of a specialized nature.
Skill to compose written material in a non-standardized format, may include original, more complex correspondence, letters, proposals and reports.

Education & Experience:
Successful completion of a two-year multimedia, video production and/or digital design diploma plus two years related work experience.
