Problem/Need

Each year, EDHB hosts a free, family event in Hamilton that encourages citizens to connect and do good for their city's natural spaces. The objective was to portray a hip, earthy event that even young adults could join in on.

Strategy/Methodology

To better align EDHB with its national parent organization, Earth Day® Canada, I chose to make use of colours that were in EDC's brand and to capture the confident, youthful spirit of "Earth Day". I illustrated a collection of quirky and playful elements that I used throughout the promotional material to appeal to both children and adults.

Results/Impact

The FSC-Certified printed materials used to promote this tree-huggin' event allow this small, non-profit to appear as they should – professional and resourceful. Together with sponsor, Tim Hortons, EDHB was also given the opportunity to showcase large posters in store locations across the City of Hamilton. EDHB has facilitated the planting of 21,000 trees in Hamilton over the last 18 years though events such as this.
