Problem/Need

The Canadian Tourism Commission has a talented research team that collects vast amounts of statistics on tourism in Canada. My aim was to showcase these facts and figures in a visually engaging and easily shareable way that would reach a larger audience of those who might not otherwise look at the detailed research reports.

Strategy/Methodology

My strategy was to highlight the most notable or interesting stats and statistics on WHO travels to Canada, and bring them to life via illustration, while remaining within established brand guidelines. Since the vast majority of travellers coming to Canada arrive by air, I thought it made sense to show a cross-section of an airplane and hone in on a few select types of travellers.

Results/Impact

Increased website traffic, a 20.5% increase in downloads for the full research report, and lots of shares and social-media shout-outs.
