My design practice harnesses polysemy, semiotics, pictograms, and typography to produce solutions for better-informed design and communication, thereby fostering comprehension amongst culturally diverse participants. I am a proponent of using the vernacular to utilize what is available in one's environment to solve problems locally. Using what we have around us promotes sustainable thinking and living, empowering us all to take an active approach to improving our lives. As an educator, I strive to empower my students by introducing interdisciplinary approaches that address a range of social, economic, and environmental issues.
